I'm legally sighted, but switching between close and far vision takes some time. I'm not an adept Voiceover user, so I need to have a visual UI to interact.
This ideal navigation app would:
1. Let me plan a trip in advance. (Accepts my input for both start and end destination, instead of planning from "here.")
2. Provide audible as well as visual prompts
3. Include travel outside the road network (using bike paths and mid-block sidewalks)
4. Alert me when I'm headed in the wrong direction
I've tried maps.me (no #2) and Here We Go (no #1). Can you point me to examples of the visual UI in the blind-market apps like BlindSquare?

Re Navigation Apps
Hello, Have you tried Near by exployer? I don't know if it does everything you want it to, but that's the only one I know of. You have to pay for it, but you can get a free on-line version that will help you test out the app I believe.
Thanks!
I didn't realize they had a free trial -- thanks so much.
