Yes it is. You can save the file in dropbox with a B as base from dropvox. In setting select your choices fo for recording. When you run the app you see record and setting. Press record and record and check if it works.

Just FYI, the audio recorder DropVox is spelled with a "Vee" (Victor) and not a "Bee" (Baby).

That being said, the DropVox (Victor) app is easily used with VoiceOver. The only downside is that you cannot play back the recordings until they are uploaded to your DropBox (Baby) account for listening. Thus, in order to use the DropBox (Victor) app you need some sort of data connection plus a DropBox (Baby) account.

It is unfortunate that one can't listen to the recordings you make with this app until they are transferred to DropBox (Baby), but I think this is the developer's way of making the audio recording app "simple". Unfortunately, one isn't always connected to Wi-Fi or have a data connection available, so this might be considered to be a major drawback of the app.

I wish they would make off-line playback of recordings possible since, otherwise, this is a very accessible and easy to use recording app.

Quick question. Can you save your recording(s) in dropvox (victor) and then batch upload them when you are next on wifi or cell data to dropbox? (bravo) If so that is quite cool! If not, that's fine, but that for me is a bit of a drawback.

Yes, if you are not connected to Wi-Fi or data service, the recordings you make are saved until you are connected. So, you should not lose any recordings.

However, I don't believe you can see which recordings are waiting to be uploaded, plus since you can't play them back, you have no way of verifying that the recording was actually made, or if it was made, if the quality is okay.

so I still consider this a major drawback when making recordings that might be important. In other words, "user beware!"

I notice I cannot record in wave with dropvox (victor) I heard I could from several people but the manual does not say this, and I can't find a way to do it. Did the setting get removed?

Hi. Wav files have never been available with Dropvox. Remember, Wav files are uncompressed audio, and every minute of recording is 10 mb. You can begin to see how much more space this would take. So the recordings are in mp3. In the dropvox settings there is a high quality switch button, and this should be set to on. I don't see how anyone could have any trouble using this app. It literally only has a few buttons. on the main screen you've got record, and settings. In the settings screens you have a couple of options which can be toggled on and off and a button which will let you choose your default upload folder to Dropbox. The only thing really missing from this app is the ability to pause a recording. and yes unfortunately you do need to play the recordings in another app. Other than that it's the perfect app when you need to record something very quickly and upload it to dropbox for safe keeping.

Actually, pausing the recording can be done with the triple tap on the stop button. This according to the manual I read last night. How odd, someone did say you can record in wave using dropvox. 44.1khz and 80kbps mono still for me sucks, as I can still hear the artifacting but tha'ts just me.

It saves, but you can't hear them. It will upload them to Dropbox (B) next time you get connected to the internet.

it's also got the drawback of no pause button. You are either recording -- creating a file or stopping. It's super great for capturing an audio clip. Not so great for creating podcasts.

You can also set it to record when it opens. So you can keep it on your home screen, launch it and it records automatically until you hit stop.

I recommend it to people who have technology phobias because it's so easy.
People who want to do a podcast need something more powerful.
