seeing AI as a musical instrument

I am using the light sensor. I suppose that this is not new, but by placing my fingers in different configurations in front of the camera, and moving the I phone in various ways, I have created some interesting tones. There are never enough musical instruments on the planet.

I’ve tried playing tunes with it by moving it around whilst in the light detection mode, but it is really difficult to get a scale out of it.

Hmmm, that sounds pretty cool. Pun literally intended. I'll have to try it sometime. I'm pretty musical, and I come from a musical family. On a somewhat related note, I just used Seeing AI and Envision AI to scan a hot pocket that I had for lunch today. Envision AI seemed to produce better results, as it found the barcode pretty much right away. This was only my second or third successful product scan, and I'm going to practice more with these 2 wonderful apps. Btw, today's lunch tasted great but probably wasn't the most nutritious thing I've eaten.

I had a chance to play a Theremin a few months ago. Playing a scale is a real challenge, but, as you would expect, musicians trained on the instrument make it sound easy.
I love the idea of using the light detector like a Theremin. It might work best if both the light and the phone are fixed and immobile, and you wave your hand between them. Not sure. It would take some experimenting.
Also, if I remember correctly, Seeing AI's light detector emits discreet tones rather than continuous. It might already be capable of emitting a western diatonic scale. Anyone want to test this? Find out what key it's in? LOL.

I placed the phone face down, and it produced a perfect C below middle C.

I've played about with this before too. It makes me smile after I've spent ages looking for bar codes or product info.
It would be interesting to see what could be done with the phone face down and adjusting the light levels and colour etc using smart lights or some other variable light source

This is interesting, I'm going to try it
