Hello,
so someone is reading a book to me through iMessages. Is there a way for me to capture these and save them? i desperately need to make this into mp3 files, if any way possible.

Yeah sure, I'm willing to help.
1 Go to Settings > Messages.
2 Scroll down to Audio Messges and tap Expire. The default is 2 minutes. Now you can change it to Never and your audio messages won't disappear until you delete them manually.

Is there not a way to save those audio messages as .mp3 files that can be played on other devices and computers. That would be a great feature!

Hi all. The only way I found is saving messages one by one. By default they are saved in the AMR format, you can convert them to MP3 via Format Factory or any similar software. I wish there was a way to select all of them and save them at once. I have several hundred messages on my phone, maybe someone can give me any hints? You can save an individual message by going to the details screen in your IMessage thread, then click on the audio message you need in the atachments list, tap "Share", and choose any cloud, dropbox or whatever. Hope that helps.
