Is Run Keeper a gps app that can help me as a blind person to run?

Hi all I previously downloaded an app called Run Keeper, which is an app to track running and other exercises like biking. I was wondering if it is an app in which I can tell it where I'm running and therefore be able to run with the aid of the app. I heard that a blind person was using it to help him run with no problems. If any one knows how this app can help us blind people please say so.

Depends on what you want out of it. I have partial sight and can see road turns. However, the app is very accurate telling what road you are on. But, not down to feet, yards, or so on. It is self voicing and will announce most apt stats as you run.

So if run keeper uses the gps, how does it track your runs? I am a totally blind person, so can you some how use voice over to tell you where you're going, or do you need sighted assistance? Also, if it tracks your runs, how is it really useful?
