Hello
I decided to subscribe to Apple Music, and I'm having a bit of a tough time transitioning from my well established system of hosting my media in iTunes, and syncing to my iPhone using a bunch of hand crafted, meticulously maintained smart and dumb playlists. It's slow and clunky, but known and works.
When I switched on Apple music and had both the phone and iTunes set to iCloud Music syncing, everything changed.
In iTunes, I can no longer control which playlists sync to my phone. The whole section with playlist, artist, album, and manually add is gone. On the phone, every single playlist in iTunes is listed. It's bit of an overwhelming mess.
To further twist my tale, despite all the playlists being present on the phone, they are not accurate I have different content in a given playlist on the phone, than I do in iTunes. For example, one playlist has 80 songs in iTunes, and on my phone, it lists 1000.
Updating seems to be unidirectional. If I search and find something in Apple Music on the phone, and put it in a playlist, it immediately shows up in iTunes. However, if I make a change to a playlist in iTunes, it does not seem to ever be reflected on the phone.
I've read as many tutorials, testimonies, and tales of woe as I can stand, and I'm still scratching my head.
Is there a difinitive source of info on the best way to transition and deal with Apple Music, iTunes, and iPhone?
