Reminders Widget in iOS 14

Before iOS 14, I had the reminders widget in my today screen. It showed past due and current reminders.
After upgrading, my today screen was changed and I am trying to get back to what I had. I added the Reminders widget, but I cannot seem to get it to show a similar list as before.

Has anyone dabbled with it and perhaps offer some insights?

All I see now is one upcoming reminder, but it's not even the next one, and I don't see a due date, or even a check box to clear it as I had before.

Sadly, the new widgets can't give you what you had before. As far as I cn see, reminders don't seem to show their due dates, and because they aren't interactive anymore, they no longer have checkboxes.

What you can do though is make it show more reminders. Make sure you add a large or medium sized widget, not a small one, and once you've added it, go out of edit mode, find it, and triple tap on it to configure which list the reminders come from.

The one good thing is that you can now have as many of them as you want to show multiple lists, but on the whole it's probably a downgrade. I'm still inthe middle of experimenting with this stuff myself, I'll see if Goodtask, which is another app that uses uses the same database as reminders does any better and get back to you. The checkboxes are probably gone, though, for this year at least.

Thanks for the confirmation. It's definitely a downgrade in the way I work with tasks. I will poke around and see if I can get back to something I like better, or learn to embrace the new "right" way to do it.

Well, I can confirm I can get Goodtask to display dates in their widget, which is a start.

The only other native widget I'd suggest playing with is Up Next, which I *think* does calendars and reminders. That one at least seems to show me times.

Shame about the completion, but there's not much anyone can do about that. Stuff like this is why I always use upgrade time to overhaul my systems, either because there's cool new things I can finally do or something I used to do doesn't work that way anymore and I have to rethink it.
