Reliably scanning QR Codes

What is the most reliable way to go about scanning a QR code with an iPhone 13 Pro Max? I'm generally incredibly good at things like this, and with the use of my camera, but this just isn't happening. I get the QR code lined up in the frame with absolutely no problem, and Voiceover tells me, when using the native Camera app QR code detected, but the problem is that then, when I try flicking to find it and actually double tap on it to carry out whatever action the QR code is supposed to do, I can't find the actual code anywhere on the screen. It's almost as if the code only is staying on the screen for a short time, despite that I'm continulously holding the camera in focus over the code.

Before anyone says, "Just double tap when you hear it's detected," hate to tell ya this, but it's not that easy. I've tried. All that does is hits the shutter icon and therefore takes an actual picture which then gets put in my iCloud photos... So yeah... Definitely not what I need.

Is there not an app aside the native camera app which might make this process a little easier? As I said, aiming the camera and focusing it in the frame isn't my issue. That, I can do easily enough. It's just more when doing so, getting the stupid qr code to stay on the screen long enough fgor me to tap the dad gum thing.

In control center, if you have not already done this, go to settings greater than control center and add the "code scanner" option. From then on, whenever you encounter a QR code, just open control center, and double tap the "code scanner" icon and bang! Problem solved.

When you activate it, it will switch to a screen with the message, "Find a code to scan". From this point, just point your rear facing camera at a QR code, and it will do the rest. Optionally, you can also swipe to the right of the message to find flashlight controls, just in case you happen to be in a dark environment at the time.

HGH. 🙂

I've had pretty good luck with Microsoft Seeing AI. That said, this whole taking a picture thing on an iPhone is still a bit daunting to me. I mean...it's wonderful that Apple has made this possible with VoiceOver, and I've been successful doing this some of the time. But for whatever reason it's just been hit-or-miss with me. I'm wondering if the measuring app might come in useful here? I believe it has some kind of level indicator. I've only briefly checked out that app, but not on my new phone yet. I'm debating whether or not to get a stand. A neighbor and I discussed this briefly last night, and he said the stands don't cost much.

Thanks, Brian. I wondered how to scan those codes.
