Check the podcast that Thomas made. If you activated it in setting, phone, open phone. It is hard to explain. Thomas did another great job showing how to use it.

As far as I remember from your previous post, you live in Egypt. change country from call log and language and region in general settings for some features. you can use call log when that happens. I'm from Turkey and I changed the region to US to use the call log.

my main language is set to English US,

I think I saw the option to record calls when I was answering an actual phone call. I'm not sure how to do it if someone calls you though.

If someone calls you, your phone will show the button to record before you answer call. When talking to someone, hide keypad and go up and slide to record call, Apple will anounse it. There should be a record call.

If you're in a supported region, call recording should work on any iPhone running iOS 18.1.

You must change the country. You will do it from the language and region in the general settings. It is not necessary to change the language.

I am able to record the call when it is in progress, but when the phone rings, the Call Recording but'on is dimmed. As I understand, the purpose of this button is to pick the call and start the recording straightaway. Isn't it that so? Why should I have the button dimmed if otherwise I'm able to record the call?

Thanks in anticipation.

Because there are laws in effect to prevent recording phone calls without the other person's permission. In fact, when you are already within a phone call, and press the record call button, both parties are notified by voice that the call is being recorded, and again when recording ends.

Just fyi for ya. 😉
