I want to assign a different finger gesture to the Item Chooser. The only app that seems to have it is BARD. Many times, when I double tap to pause the reading, the Item Chooser opens, instead.
I’m about to pull my hair out. How do I move the Item Chooser to the four-finger single tap?
I have an iPhone 8 running 16:1.

Careful about the four finger single tap
Hello,
first of all, I would like to warn you that if you assign the four finger single tap to something else, you will lose a feature, and that is the one where you can do a four finger single tap near the top of the screen to go to the first item, or near the bottom to go to the last one.
If you don't care about this though, it should work just fine.
First of all, it would be best to remove the current one, which is the 2 finger triple tap. Open VoiceOver settings and go to commands. Activate touch gestures, and find the gesture 2 finger triple tap. It should say item chooser. Double tap that, and it should open a dialog allowing you to change the gesture.
The very last button in this dialog is remove. If you don't want this gesture assigned to anything, press that button, and the gesture will not do anything when accidentally triggered, or you can also assign it to some other function.
The next thing is to go back to the list of gestures and find the one you want to reassign, in this case four finger single tap. In this same list of commands, find show item chooser (it's under the VoiceOver heading and you can also use the text field to search for it). Double tap that, and the gesture should be assigned.
Hopefully that helps, or you can ask for any further clarification if needed.
