hello, i would like to kno if it's impassable to rely on notifications on the appstore, or check for update manually?
sometimes i find that have their updates of apps, and i don't kno aboute this, thank!
Hi. I might be out of the ordinary here, but I far prefer to update apps manually, for a couple reasons. Firstly, I don't like my phone to decide that it's going to update an app for me. I like choosing when I'm going to upgrade, not when my phone decides I should. Secondly, sometimes an app's accessibility can be effected by app updates. I've seen apps that were really accessible go to almost completely unusable. If I know that an app update will cause it to not work for me, I'm obviously going to want to stick to the version that works. of course, it's completely up to you, some folks find the whole update automaticly thing to work great for them. For me, however I'll take manual updates every time.
I agree with Toonhead that doing manual updates is a good idea. Many apps change in ways that I just don't have time to explore sometimes, so I update them when it's convenient for me.
As for knowing when there are updates, I pretty much rely on the badge icon for the Appstore telling me if there are updates availableOne pet peeve is the Facebook updates that don't have any information about what they are going to do to the app. They use quite a lot of data, and I almost never see a difference afterword.
tank, but i did mean for this. I mean that wen i touch icon of the appstore Voice Over tells me if have there updates and how many i have. I think that it unrelyable because that it's not accuret. I don't kno if this is a bug in ios, or Voice over, but i think that apple needs improve it.
I'm not sure how often the app store refreshes the list of updates. But at any time, even if you have auto update turned on, you can open the app store, hit the updates tab and wait a few seconds. Any time you open the updates section it causes the app store to refresh.

It sometimes says that there are no updates, but if you open the app store then you'll see if there are any after a few seconds of waiting.
Yep, I saw one time that I had an update in the app store, and when I double-tapped on the updates tab, it turns out I had like 5 of them! Not a problem, but it would be cool to know how many app updates you have from the start. Hopefully this is fixed in iOS 9. As for app updates being a pain, in a perfect world I could turn automatic updates off and apps would still be accessible every time I update them. But I got burned a couple times with apps completely changing their interfaces, so I'm very glad I stuck to the older versions which worked great.
Use iTunes on your computer with the phone connected via USB and lightning cable. If you do over the air updates, and this is especially true for what's coming on Wednesday, you're asking for trouble. If something goes amiss, you've got an expensive paperweight on your hands instead of a reliable phone.

Yeah, I can see what you mean. Using iTunes for updating the OS is the way to go, I just don't honestly use it for updating apps very often if at all. I really don't have apps that break usability much anymore, however on occasion, it does happen. And yeah, I am planning on updating to iOS 9 via iTunes.

I have the same problem Liel Ben Simon had. The app store is not accurate when it comes to updates. Sometimes I don't even know that I have updates. I have to open app store,and like one comment said, let it refresh for a few seconds to get all the updates.
My question is, does the app store give push notifications as an alert for updates? I've never seen it but maybe I thought I might have missed something.

This feature is enabled by default, but you can disable automatic updates in Settings, and manually update the apps in App Store.
Go to Settings > Tap on iTunes & App Store > Under the area titled Automatic Downloads, you’ll see options like Music, Apps, Books, Updates > Tap on the toggle switch to turn it off.
