Hello
This may sounds like a weard request, but here it is:
Is there a way I can replace a punctuation sign with the actual word? For example: Can I replace the % sighn with the word percent? Currently all three South-African English voices pronounce the % sign as ercent. Extremely annoying especially when I want to use any weather app for example: Weather Underground plus the built in Weather app. Apple Accessibility is aware of the issue, but May be there exists a temporary sollution? I tried to change this using the pronounciation dictionary, but no luck.

I don't know of any way to do this. I would be very interested in starting a campaign to request this feature from Apple. The pronunciation dictionary for words is nice, but I find myself wanting to fix or prevent the pronunciation of individual characters, punctuation, symbols, or emoji. A separate character pronunciation dictionary would solve this problem. I am most often annoyed by the · (Middle dot) character. It is present to show pronunciation help for sighted people reading aloud, but it just messes up pronunciation for VoiceOver. There are many other examples I can't think of right now. I was just afraid that one person making such a request would be unlikely to do much good. If enough people have a similar thought there is a chance Apple will implement the feature.
