Hello everyone. I hope everything is going well. I want to share feedback that I sent two months ago when the translation with the action button feature was released.
When you translate something and want to close the pop-up, it simply doesn't work. Additionally, I have encountered issues with taking screenshots and using direct touch. Apple Accessibility has acknowledged experiencing the same problems and reported them for further review. However, after 2-3 months, nothing has been resolved yet. And; i'm using ios 17.4.
Here's the feedback. If you are experiencing the same issue, could you please contact the Apple Accessibility team?
Feedback:
Hi, I hope this email finds you well. I appreciated the new translation feature introduced in iOS 17.2, but we are experiencing a few issues with it when using VoiceOver.
Firstly, after pressing the action button to start translation, VoiceOver might continue speaking, potentially causing problems such as misspelling. It may be advisable to avoid the speech the when the action button is pressed with the translation feature enabled.
Secondly, once you used it by pressing the action button; it displays at the top of the screen annoyingly. Pressing the collapse button using VoiceOver actions rotor doesn’t result in any action; it’s impossible to close the pop-up toolbox. The only way is to open the translate app by pressing one of the buttons popppes up on the dynamic island.
Additionally, we are still encountering problems with the screenshot and direct touch features. I hope these issues are going to be resolved soon.
Have a great day!

Can you go into more detail what you mean by screenshot and direct touch feature issues?
Direct touch
Hi again, here's the feedback that i sent to the apple accessibility 3 months ago:
Hello, I am a blind person and using my phone with voiceover. When taking a screenshot, ıt is not possible to navigate the screen to share it or perform various actions or work with the text detection feature.
Instead of; Voiceover activates the direct touch feature and this makes it harder to interact on the screen. The only way to get rid of this is to find the feature being tried by touching an area of the screen and then double-clicking on the same place without lifting the finger.
This direct touch problem may also occur in other places, but I can't remember what exactly they are. One last point; i have been experienceing this issue with my iPhone 15 promax but when i tryed on iphone 11 with the same OS version; it worked perfectly fine. I hope such problems will be solved in iOS 17.2. Thanks.
