Problems with voiceover

Hi, I have an iPhone 5 and have noticed the following problems with voiceover and was curious if others are experiencing the same problems... I haven't upgraded to ios 9 because ever since ios 7, voiceover functions seemed to be getting worse with each update... Unfortunately my phone got upgraded to ios 8 when I sent it to apple for the iPhone 5 sleep/lock button recall. Now I have so many problems. I noticed sometimes, when I tap the screen or move my finger around on the screen, voiceover will stay silent and then after a little while, I would hear all these clicking sounds from touching the screen.
Also, when I flick through my ringtones list, it won't just go down the list in order and keeps jumping around, For example, I could be flicking through tones in , then it would jump to tones in S.
Also, noticed problems with not being able to flick through the contents in order while managing a contact info.

iOS 8 was quite bad, but iOS 9 fixed several of these bugs. I would recommend upgrading to iOS 9. However, I cannot guarantee success because every device is different.

Hi. In this case, what I would do is do an icloud backup if you have one already, and then do a full reset on your phone and then upgrade to iOS 9. I say this because if things have been cleared out, your upgrade to iOS 9 will be a bit more smooth because you'll have a fresh install. After everything's set up, you'll get the choice of setting it up as a new iPhone or restore from iCloud backup. If you choose the iCloud backup option, any folders and other really specific settings you have will be saved, and when your iCloud backup is complete, you'll have everything exactly the way you had it before. If you just want to go the set up as new iPhone option, you'll need to re-download all your apps, which can be a pain if you have a lot. Either way, I do believe an update to iOS 9 will be what you need. I have to say iOS 9 has probably been Apple's most stable OS to date on the iphone. iOS 7 and 8 were full of bugs, so I can sure understand why you'd be hesitant to update. Usually, anything apple does that has a .0 in the version number isn't going to be as stable as something with a .1 or a .2 version number. Now we're up to iOS 9.2.1 and everything seems to be rather stable.

I had the same or similar issue this weekend. I had to reset all settings. This did not erase all the contents on my phone and sets it back to default.
