The crossword puzzles have been broken in the Apple News app for more than a year. I waited for several months, hoping that ios 26 would fix it, but no luck. I started reporting it last September, and after sending screen recordings, was told this would be passed along to the developers. It remains broken.
I pay for the Apple 1 subscription, and really enjoyed this feature Today, I emailed Apple Accessibility asking for a $1 monthly discount because I can't use a valued feature.
Was I being petty? Oh yeah I was, but sheesh, after several emails and them not fixing part of a paid service, I figured I'd try another approach.
I don't expect this to work, but I think there has been a lot of time where this bug could have been fixed.
