From simple problems like bad organisation to my library of over 1600 books being completely unmanageable, not knowing whether something is in my library or to be bought. It’s a complete mess which is incredibly upsetting considering how much I could love that app. What specifically are you struggling with?
I can use the search button on both the library and discover tabs although its a complete mess how they are arranged and theres no way to know what you already have and whats available to buy and if you move down the list you can’t come back up again but I can at least use the search button in Discover. You could try using the one in Library instead. It’s not actually labelled search but labelled library for some great reason I’m sure. The app is such a mess. I really don’t know how they made it so bad, its almost impressive. Considering how audiobooks are just about the only media we have exactly equal access to, its definitely upsetting how badly they’ve messed it up for Audible but I try not to get too sad about it and all the money I’ve spent on my enormous library. You could always try deleting and downloading again? maybe even signing out and back in again would be a good thing to try first or even refreshing the library from the settings menu? I hope something works for you.
Hello Andy, I was thinking about getting the Audible App. But after reading this post, I guess it's better to use online. I had requested a couple of books to be added to NLS and haven't seen them yet. That's why I thought about Audible App. But now maybe not.
Hi, Remember I have a large library so if you were only using a few books it should be more manageable. You could even download the app and see how you get on. There are plenty of places to get 2 free credits with your first month without being charged anything. If I only had 10 - 50 books I’m sure it would be much better but with 1600 its so much hassle I just don’t bother. The other annoyances I have are easy to deal with if not unnecessarily cumbersome. An example would be having to open the narration speed window to then interact with a flick up and down speed control instead of just putting that speed control where the button to open it is.
Like Andy, I also have a large library over 1800 books.
And I have been using Audible for many many years.
And for some reason over the last year or two they seem to be making it much more difficult to go through and sort books if I want to go reread them again.
Also it used to be after we read a book. We could immediately find the next book in the series, and they have made that nearly impossible now to
I’m not really sure what is up with Audible
I have complained.
And I am considering copying all the tweets in this list so they can see it’s not just me.
I just installed the Audible app and requested my first book. The app is usable but needs improvement. The Audible web site isn't much better. I will use it to read this book series and then, unless updates improve things, I'll cancel it.
Hi all,
For those of you having problems with Audible, I've found navigating the library works much better if you sort books by genre. By default, 'all' is selected, but if you sort by genre it might make things easier, at least it did on my iPad. Incidentally, I'm just looking at Audible on my iPhone 12 mini, and I'm not having the usual problem of the app getting stuck and continuously taking me back to options like 'select' and 'collections' and so on. I know the app was updated fairly recently, so maybe that's why I'm not having problems on my phone anymore. The only thing that happens now is when I'm swiping through my books, a title won't read so I have to swipe left and then right again to read it. I've got about 300 or so books in my library. I wonder if it might be more difficult with 1000 or so. But I always found sorting books by genre and then going into each genre to look at what was there always much better. It still gets stuck sometimes and takes you back to the top, but it doesn't happen nearly as much. I find that when it takes you back to the top with all the options and you swipe, it takes you back to the book you either just got stuck on or the book just after it. As for searching through the 'discover' tab, if you double tap and hold, the search field comes up and you can type. I'm on the latest iOS and iPad OS versions.
My collection is getting bigger and no issues managing them. Audible works well for me. I am able to find what I need. Using the search on library works well or if I just flick up or down on a book that I am listening, I can find more by selecting the author and so.

It’s one of the worst apps I use.

I cannot search new titles
Hello there, hope you're well. I actually cannot search new titles.
When I go to the Discover tab, I cannot press the search button. If I do, the on-screen keyboard doesn't appear.
It works for me.
