Problem with Weather Gods and Location Services

I just upgraded from an iPhone 6 to an iPhone XR.

The Weather Gods app was working fine on my iPhone 6. When I switched over to my iPhone XR, however, I observed two issues:

1. I was no longer receiving notifications in the morning and evening.
2. When I try to set the "use Location" within the Weather Gods app, regardless of whether I select to allow Weather Gods to access my location "Always" or "When Using the app", when I go back to the main settings dialog within Weather Gods it indicates that it is set to "Never" use my location.

Any ideas what could be wrong or how to fix this problem?

Thanks.

Hi,

Pete and I have been working our way through this and found a solution.

It appears that somehow the app install from the App Store got corrupt and Weather Gods location service settings and notification registration settings were missing.

We fixed this by going into the iPhone Storage section in the device settings and deleting Weather Gods from there, removing every single trace of the app install.

After that, a fresh install was fine.

Yes, I want to thank Scott publicly for his quick and helpful response to my problem. Everything works fine now with Weather Gods as it did before updating to my new phone - I even get the alerts again!

As a side note, I did try uninstalling the app from its icon by performing a single finger double tab and hold and then deleting the app. That must not have deleted as much of the app data as did the method Scott described above since after re-loading the app which was deleted from the icon Weather Gods was still broken. Thus I recommend if people really want to delete everything about an app do it from the Settings dialog as Scott recommends.

Happy new year everyone!
