Hello everyone: I seem to have a following problem, when I go to phone, contacts then table index and choose a letter by flicking up or down the following happens. Suppose I choose letter "b" then I flick to the right. I don't get to my first contact started with letter "b" but I got on one of my "a" contacts somewhere in the middle of the list. The same can be said about the other letter while using the table index feature. I have an iphone 6 plus and I am running ios 9.2. I made sure that my rotor is set on adjust the value setting. Anyone has the solution? Many thanks. Zdenek

Hi Zdenek,
I double tap and hold on the table index until I hear the pass through sound.
Now I slide my finger up and down until I find the desired letter.
Now I lift my finger.

Good luck,

You are using it wrong actually. You don't flick but according to the manual on ios, you touch in the middle of the screen, at least i do. And I'm there on the right letter. I might need to flick right or left a few more times to get to where I need to be, but thats how that works.

Hth.

I have never much liked this indexing feature. If I need to get somewhere specific like in a Contacts list, I prefer to set the VoiceOver rotor to headings and then flick up or down with one finger. It might take a little longer, but it works just fine when apps support it.

The reason this is happening is that flicking always moves through every item on the screen sequentially. When you change the letter on the table index, it causes the list of contacts on the screen to scroll to the right position. Then, when you flick to the right off of the table index, the next item is the contact list. Or more specifically, the first contact on your device. When you flick VOiceOver always scrolls the list to the right position so that you can activate the item that you flicked onto, which in this case is the top of the list. So, instead of flicking, after you set the table index to the right letter put your finger somewhere around the middle of the screen and you can continue to flick right/left through your contacts from there. The list covers most of the screen, so this shouldn't be too difficult.
