Problem with the new Siri.

I have the updated supposed to be smarter Siri. But when I dictate and ask Siri to send a text, he’ll say, “What do you want to say to…?” I’ll dictate what I want to say and then there’s nothing. I know the message wasn’t sent because I did not turn on the automatically send. I’m about to turn off this intelligence thing and maybe my dictating texts will work as it did before. Thanks for thoughts and suggestions. I guess there is now a different way with dictating texts.

I am running iOS 27.2 developer beta two. I just tested it and had no problems. I had a lot of problems with the new Siri in the public release. Maybe this will be fixed for you when the next iOS software update comes out

Hi, Scott,

This is an issue I've been having with the 27.0 public release. Randomly, Siri will just say "something went wrong." This wouldn't be the end of the world, except that it stays at the top of my screen and dictation stops working. The only way to fix it is to open the Siri app.

Is this an issue in the beta that you know of?

Thanks, I'm thinking about updating to beta as this is really pissing me off lol.

The home gesture will dismiss Siri from the top of the screen. You can also hold the side button and say "goodbye." I believe the Z scrub gesture might work as well, but I'm not entirely sure.

Just asked Siri to do some addition for me and nothing happened. Then I said, "Are you there?" and he said he was listening but did not answer. So now I'll ask how to get out of this beta thing? Thanks.

now that you mention it, i am having the same problem, but for me, it's hit and miss. I'll write a feedback report about this. i am on the beta. there's a way to submit bug reports through the feedback assistant , app without beta testing. i don't know what that is. maybe someone can chime in? I find personally, that's the best way to tell Apple about bugs.

The same thing happens to me. Sometimes the text will automatically send, and then other times, I can read the siri prompt in that banner thing on top of the screen and then i have to tap on the "Ok" button to send the message. This is is confusing because sometimes messages automatically send and other times they don't.

To get out of the Siri beta go to settings and then Siri settings at the end of Siri settings there is an option to turn off Siri. Turn Siri off, then reopen your Siri settings and there should be an option for use classic Siri or try the beta double tap on classic Siri and follow the prompts to set it back up.
