Hi all. Subject is pretty selfexplanatory. Is it possible to power down the phone from the lock screen? I held down the volume up and side buttons, it did the buzz thing but the slide to power off option never came up. I ended up having to unlock with passcode then do it that way. Any help would be great. Thanks.

press volume up and down and them press power button and hold until you hear power off. This works for 12 pro. Do not hold power button with any other button.

Hi Holger, Just to clarify, so to power off the iPhone 12, you hold the side button with one of the volume buttons until you hear, "Power off"?

First press volume up, second press volume down 3 press power button and hold until you hear power button off. Do this fast.

That's what I thought you meant in your earlier post. Thanks!

The steps for this on an iPhone without a Home button are as follows:

  1. Press and release the volume up button.
  2. Press and release the volume down button.
  3. Press and hold the side button until you hear VoiceOver announce “power off, slide or double tap”.

Note that you need to do this very quickly, with no pauses between steps.

If you continue to hold down the side button after the ‘power off’ announcement, your device will restart. Note that you will need to hold down the side button for approximately 8-10 seconds for the ‘hard’ restart to occur, and you will get no feedback from VoiceOver to confirm what is happening.

FYI. If you hold side button or power button it will do a restart.
