Possible bug with Spotlight

I often use the spotlight app to find frequently used apps quickly. When I do this I don't type anything in the edit field but I just pick from the suggested list that is already there. Some minutes later when I am either using the app or have even finished and have closed the screen Voice Over will say 'No Items Found'. I have even tried using the return to search link in order to actually close Spotlight but I still get the same message as if it it has been searching for something non-existent entered into the edit field. Has anyone else experienced this as I think it is a bug. I am just not sure if it is an IOS 10.1 or Voice Over bug.

I've noticed as well, with what seems like increasing frequency, VoiceOver will say out of the blue, no items found. I posted this in the Facebook iPhone and iPad apps for the blind, but nobody else reported it. I found your report doing a google search on the bug. One other data point is that I always restore my iPhone from iCloud, and I've never started over since about 2009. I'm not sure if the bug comes from some corruption from the restore as it doesn't seem like its being reported very frequently.

It still happens ocasionally but not as often. I usually restore from my PC and it was happening then. I had an iPhone 6 and iPod Touch and it ocurred on both devices. I now have an iPhone 7 but I'm not sure if it's happend on that yet. I'll pay more attention. I reported the issue to Apple when I posted my comment and they said they couldn't replicate the bug. It would help if you could report it to access@apple.com too.
Cheers
