Possible bug with Braille screen input on iPhone. Can anyone duplicate?

Hi everyone on here!
This is Gary Price here.

Has anyone on here noticed a very strange thing with Braille screen input on the iPhone since iOS26?

Since I've upgraded my iPhone from the 13 to the 17 Pro, I have noticed something really strange.

If I try to use Braille screen input to navigate my home screen, if I try to put multiple letters in for certain apps, when I do the swipe gesture to move between the apps, VoiceOver switches to the rotor!
Lines, words and characters.

But the strange thing is, on my 13 which I've got purely as a back up phone, it works absolutely fine!
But yet on my 17 Pro, it works beautifully in text fields!
Using it right now to write this message!

Please if anyone can duplicate, let me know!

Many thanks, look forward to any responses!

Howdy, fellow BSI maven,

I just tested your scenario, and it worked as per the norm on my iPhone 17 Pro Max as it had on my recently traded-in iPhone 15 Pro. I heard nothing about the rotor.

Just tested this on my 16e and couldn't reproduce.

It's a bit of an extreme step, but could you try resetting your VoiceOver settings and seeing if that helps? Note that as you're on iOS 26, you can reset only your VoiceOver settings from the bottom of the settings screen, no need for a full phone reset anymore! ☺

Since rather recently, I think, one can access rotor options by swiping up or down in command mode. Maybe your right swipe registered as up or down swipe? That's all I can think of. Working fine for me. Using it now as I write this.

Could it be command mode? That's really the only thing that comes to mind well that or one handed mode maybe.

I'm on a 16e and I have a slightly similar problem. Every now and again BSI will register a rotor twist instead of a swipe or letter input. I'm not sure if it's my hand position or what but I've had this problem for awhile.
