Playing audiobooks at a faster speed

Hello,

I am looking for an app that allows a person to play an audiobook at a faster speed.  I do not like to read at regular speed and find this to be very vexing.  If anyone can tell me of a free, or nearly free,  app that can do this, that would be awesome.

The music app on your iDevice will play audiobooks at double speed.

The control for this is in the block that also includes Track Position, Repeat and 30 Second Rewind. If these controls are not visible, simply double-tap when VoiceOver focus is on 'Album Art' to toggle its display to on.

though it is possible to increase reading speed to what is claimed to be 2x, and that ability is better than no ability to do so at all, when last I tried it, the increase didn't feel like double speed. I still use a specialized portable player to play sound files because I can play them much more rapidly.
