Photo Labeling

Hi: I have a question on how to label photos. I have an IPhone 4S and I am trying to label photos in my camera app. I know how to label the photo; do a 2-finger double tap and then type the name in when I get the edit box. That part is fine. My problem is when I go back in to the camer-roll none of my photos have the label I gave them. When I do tap on a photo and it comes up the name that appears is not what I named it. The label that shows up is the last one I typed in. Does anyone have any tips or tricks when it comes to using the labeling feature? Thanks for all of your help. By the way, I am totally blind so I like being able to label pictures so I can send them to my sighted friends. It is nice to know what I am sending.

The gesture that you mentioned is a voiceover label and not an actual label for the photo. Unfortunately the way that it works is it remembers where that item was and gives it a label. But if you take a new photo than all the photos will change position and the labels you made will be on different pictures then the ones you assigned if they're there at all. As far as I know there's no way to label photos within the iPhone itself. If you import the pictures to your computer, you can change the file names to label them. But even so they wont have that name on your iPhone. There really isn't much of a solution for this yet.
Thanks for the info. I guess I will have to send the photos to my laptop and then label them. I was hoping it wouldn't be such a complecated process. Nancy

I just tried labeling photos in my camera roll using the two finger double tap and hold method and it worked for multiple photos. I took a few other photos and the labels I added remained the same. This is with iOS 6 on my iPhone 4S. I had tried this before with 5.11 and it didn't work. Labeling one photo seemed to label all the photos the same. One note is that labeling photos in the camera roll won't show in the photo section of the camera app and vise versa
