Hello all,
Today periscope released a new update with voiceover support. I have not tried it yet but I did check the tabs and they are now labeled, I haven't tested the end broadcast button yet as I don't have anything to broadcast about to try it. Those of you who like myself that tweated/emailed the developers it looks like they are listening!

That is fantastic news! :) I haven't tried it up til now because I was worried I'd get stuck though in saying that, I have been successful in streaming a video before.
Good on the developpers of this app and every other who listen to sugestions re VO.

wow! I just got the update today and I'm impressed! the developers really made the app accessible with VoiceOver! I have been waiting for this for a very long time. amazing job periscope debs! you rock!

Well, I certainly wouldn't call it accessible... Not totally, not yet. While streaming, you can't see who's trying to chat with you, which makes you seem quite rude if people don't know you're blind. Overall though, it's an enormous improvement, and kudos to the dev team for beginning. Please keep making this more and more accessible, as even though I can read chats in Meercat, NOBODY EVER SAYS ANYTHING to me while streaming! Periscope is very different, and people chat on that all the time, so I definitely hope it keeps on improving!

agreed! I used to use meerkat, but moved back to periscope after hearing that the latest build fixed accessibility issues with VoiceOver.

Another issue I found you can tap the screen to leave harts but it doesn't tell me what kind of harts I'm leaving as I think you can leave different kind. I'm sure that and the chat issue will be fixed as periscope devs themselves said this is just a start and are working on the other issues. One thing that annoys me while listening to both periscope and meerkat streams about chat is the streamer will be telling a story or saying something and then will stop and start reading comments and then go on with their point and then get interrupted again. I'd prefer streamers to give their point or tell their story without getting interrupted and save chatting until the eng, but that is for a whole different topic on a whole different site lol.
