Opening Pages documents on an iPad with VO

All:
I have been using Pages on an iPhone for a while. When I want to open a file, I simply double tap the file and it opens. Recently, I tried using Pages on an iPad. When I double tap the file on this device, it brings up the dialog to rename the file. So, my question, how do I open a Pages document on an iPad using VO? Just to make sure I wasn't missing anything, I attached a keyboard to the iPad. VO Space does the same thing as double tapping, it brings up the rename dialog. I also tried both enter and Command O, with no luck.
Any idea what is happening here?
Thanks.
Jim

I'm sorry to not be of any help. I just wanted to say that I'm having the exact same problem on multiple iPads with the latest iOS (11.2.6) and latest update of Pages. What it looks like visually is like there should be two separate buttons for opening a document and renaming a document and for some reason they are merged as one for VO. I can open documents completely fine touching on the exact same spot on the screen when VO is off. I hope someone else has an idea about this.

Hey there,

A while back I had a similar situation where vo would want to rename instead of opening a file or folder in the files app, where pages files are also. After playing around and swiping around I figured out what the problem was. The problem was the actions option in the rotor. For what ever reason, VO was set on the rename option within the actions in the rotor. Swiping up/down cycled me through the various options. So what I did was swipe up/down until I found open, did a double tap and everything was back to normal. Also, simply turning the rotor to another option like lines or words for example seems to work also. It seems that once a different rotor option is set, a simple double tap on the file or folder of choice again worked as normal. I hope your situation is the same and this fix works for you.

Lots of luck and have a great day

I have found this problem to be resolved on two iPads by the most recent iOS update (11.3) with the most recent Pages update. I hope everyone else has the same experience when they update.
