Hi all,
So, I know that there have been several variations of this complaint on AppleVis, so I wanted to post a question, and some investigation that I did. So, I have noticed that my text message sounds, email sounds, and all sounds that are not ringtones are quiet when VoiceOver is enabled. I am runniing iOS and iPad OS 16.5.1 (c). However, this does not happen on my iPad. The iPad is a standard iPad that I got in 2018. It's notification sounds work fine. On my iPhone, I have the VoiceOver speech volume at 80%, the VoiceOver sounds at 80%, and my overall system volume at 50%. This combination seems to be the only way sounds are played loudly. Well, the VoiceOver volumes don't really make any difference, mostly the system volume. If the system volume is lower or higher than 50%, notifications are lowered. I have tried disabling Audio Ducking, but no change. I also tried turning off vibration, so that the fhone would be similar to the iPad, but this made no difference to the sounds. No speaker issues, as my music and everything else will reach 100% when the volume is increased. Change with buttons is off, though I did play around with this a bit. I emailled Apple accessibility, but have not yet heard back. If anyone has any tips, I would greatly appreciate it. Also, I believe that 80% for the VoiceOver speech and sounds is the default? I'm not sure on that. My iPad's is set to 100%, so I'm confused. I also wanted to add, that my iPhone has system volume of 50%, and vibrations are turned off. Sound is sounding normal, but again, I cannot go above or below 50% system volume.
Thank you all.
