Not sure if this is Ios 11, Siri or 3rd party issue

Hi All, since Ios 11 I am no longer able to use Siri to post to Facebook or Twitter. In Ios 10.3.3 you could ask Siri to do this for you. Now she simply says she can't do that. No idea why this has changed. Can anyone else still do this? It was a useful feature to quickly post.

I think they took that out, I tried it and it didn't work. I am not sure why they have changed these things, I'd like to know the logic of not having twitter and facebook act with third party apps now.

hi, this is actually the result of a deeper problem, if you look in your settings, there are not entries for twitter and facebook now. so the apps will still work, but you'll sign into them directly again. but bare in mind that it's possible for apps to link to siri i think now, so it could happen that twitter and or facebook might look at adding the options to use siri to perform posting and so on.

That is correct. Apple have done away from Facebook and Twitter being integrated in the iOS. In iOS 11 they are now treated like any other apps. Because they are no longer integrated this means you can no long post a tweet or a status five Siri now. As mentioned above it will now be up to Twitter and Facebook to implement a new feature using the new Siri API's. You can use Siri for basic things with Twitter and Facebook but not to post. Why Apple did away with this is unknown as I have not seen an official reason.

I was a little sad to see that gone but it never worked well for me. Siri would just stop listening half way through my sentence and I'd end up having to open Twitter anyway. That and I don't think you could do mentions with it.
