Not Immediately Responding to Notifications

OK, here's the scenario: I get a notification on my iPhone, but I don't want to respond to/look at it immediately. However, I still want to unlock my iPhone. How do I bypass the "double-tap to view" option just simply to get to the "double-tape to open" option, so I can simply unlock my phone without viewing the most recent notification?

Hi there,  My solution to this scenario is to quickly press the sleep key twice. This will lock and unlock your phone and slide to view will turn to slide to unlock.  I know this isn't exactly a very sophisticated solution, but it works :) Niall

I don't know if this will work, because I haven't tried it with your particular situation. But can you tap the bottom left corner of the screen? This is where it seems to say, "Slide to unlock."

This will really depend on your personal preference, but I have mine set to not show notifications in the lock screen. You have to do this for each app in the notifications setting, and then the notifications are no longer in your lock screen. What happens when you do it this way is this. You get a notification and hear a sound. Then, when you unlock the phone, the sound plays again, and the notification banner flashes on your screen. I personally like this, because when my phone is locked, I don't always want voiceover reading that I have a new message. So, it just plays the sound, and then when I'm ready to view it, I unlock my phone. You still don't have to view it right away, either. You can wait until you're ready.
