New bug discovery.

Hello all,
Hope your all keeping well,
Recently came across what I can only presume is a little quirk in IOS8, found completely accidently but would be fascinated if any of you have found it as well. In settings, under sounds if you go into an alert apart from the default opening ring tone, and flick right through the options instead of placing your finger directly on the screen and exploring by touch, when you arrive at the vibration pattern button, quick vibration, for example, you will be thrown out of settings and placed back on the home screen for no logical reason I can think of. Bit of a strange and curious one, so thought I would ask just to see if this has always been a thing or have I actually discovered something that I have not read about here or elsewhere. Regardless, it's naturally a very small quirk, perhaps not even a bug, merely wanted to see if any of you had encountered as well.

Best,
Darren.

Hi,
You need to swipe beyond to the vibration pattern button, where VO says "quick vibration", perhaps you have not experienced it, but I can get it to happen every time. Still happens after turning VO off and on, as well as rebooting. I will indeed report this to accessibility, as it is a bug that can be missed very easily.

Okay everyone, reported this bug this evening that's 7 accessibility emails I've sent them since getting my Iphone 6 in November. This one is difficult to find unless your actually attempting to replicate the behavior or wanting to change an alert sound. In all honesty, I'd much prefer them to address the recurrent and frustrating Safari crashing. Could anyone tell me does chrome provide a significantly more reliable experience on IOS at the moment?, I would use it if that is the case.
Best to all,
Darren.

I ran into this bug a couple of weeks ago on my iphone 5. After resetting all settings, it worked for a bit but started happening again.

I finally found that once you get into the window for whatever event you are trying to change the sound/vibration for, don't swipe left-right through the options. Instead, make sure the rotor is set to headings and swipe up-down to the Vibration section. Then, you can swipe left-right with no problem.

HTH,
June

Many thanks for sharing, would never have considered that changing to headings would prevent the bug but there you go, that's excellent.

Hello,
After reading this, I did it twice, and every time you go to anything other than the default ringtone, even if you land somewhere else and you go back with the 3 finger flick down to go to the beginning, it takes you out and places you back on the home screen.

The only way I've been able to get around it is to just place my finger in the middle of the screen and swipe left, effectively going backwards to the alert I may want to change. I have reported it, but who knows when Apple will get around to fixing it.
