Hello all,
I have an iPhone 15 and I am currently running the latest version of iOS. In the last two weeks or so, typing with Braille screen input has suddenly become extra tricky. In particular, it has been very difficult for me to include dot 5's in characters that involve lots of dots. For example, typing the of contraction usually involves several tries. Strangely, I rarely have issues when typing the dot 5 by itself. I try recalibrating the dot positions quite liberally, but this rarely makes a difference for very long.
Has anyone observed this behavior before? I am really hoping it is related to a setting that I can turn off and have done with it. I have checked and there are no low vision settings turned on, which has sometimes messed with my BSI in the past. One other thought: the issue does somewhat coincide with the addition of a screen protector to my phone a weeka nd a half ago. I'm having a hard time believing that that is the issue because why would it matter? That said, I'm also dreading the fact that, if that is the issue, it seems like that would be a difficult barrier to overcome. I would be interested to hear what others think.

Screen protector
Often times a screen protector can limit the screen's sensitivity to touch. So this may indeed be the culprit.
My only other suggestion at this time, would be for you to try both screen away mode, and tabletop mode, and see if you get different results.
BSI
I have to admit, I am not jazzed about the idea of trying it out in tabletop mode, but I'll give it a whirl. I'm curious if most people who use BSI don't use screen protectors then? I used one just fine on my iPhone SE2, but I wonder if the edge-to-edge screen fouls it up. I guess I'm just bummed that this would be the issue.

iPhone SE 2022 running iOS 18.2.1. I have not used a screen protector since before Covid. I don't necessarily hold a grudge toward anyone who uses them, I just simply choose not to. π€·π½ββοΈ
