Need help with working with the picker item function in Safari

Hi all, I hope someone can help with this problem.
Normally I don't have any trouble with the item chooser, or as some call it, the picker function. But I play an MMORPG online game, and this is used to perform various operations or tasks. The game is Utopia, and here's a link to the site if you're interested.

So in this case with the item chooser, I'm trying to highlight a spell to have cast over my province. When I double tap the picker button to open the choices, nothing actually opens, or it doesn't expand to let me select an option.
I also notice in the roter there isn't an option called adjust value. I assume that would need to be set, unless its set automatically once double tapped on the item chooser button.
I wonder if anyone else has encountered a faulty item chooser, or picker button. How are you all dealing with that.
Perhaps I need to contact the support team and ask them to see if it could be fixed? Problem is, I don't know what they need to do to fix this issue.

I'd appreciate any help with this, its a major pain, and is holding me back from being able to play the game like any sighted player. Thanks again.

When I double tap on the picker item, I just placed my finger on the bottom right corner of my phone before I start swiping up. If this does not work, then the item itself must be faulty. Some Safari sites are just weird for some reason. I managed to stumble upon a non working search field at novel12.com.

There's a difference, actually. The item chooser is a Voiceover function that lists all the controls on the page. You can use it by pressing VO-I or two-finger-tripple-tap. The picker, on the other hand, is activated when you press a drop-down menu. The picker pops up at the bottom of the screen. Sometimes VO focus is not taken there and sometimes it is. For the picker, I used the "adjust value" rotor setting and then press "done." I hope this is helpful. I may be the one who is confused. LOL

Hi teresa,
Nope your not confused. You've got it right. The item chooser is indeed for VO functions, and the picker is the drop down menu that appears when you double tap on a picker in safari. VO on iOS and mac differ in this regard, as VO on mac usually says pop-up button whereas on iOS it says picker. Once you have swiped to the item you want, I then go left once to the "done" button and hit it and i'm good to go
HTH.

Thanks for the explinations and helping me to understand there are two separate functions to this picker/chooser situation.
Sadly I believe the Utopia web site is just buggy and is not working properally. It be amazing if there was something I could tell the admins how to fix it,but I just don't know enough about what they'd have to do to get that working properly.
Oddly enough, when I flict to the picker button, it says, pop up button, not picker button.

Thanks again for everyone's help on this. :)

Popup buttons are the term Apple uses for the drop-down menus. iOS actually uses this term. Once you press it, Voiceover should say "picker" instead of popup button. If it doesn't, it's important to get to the bottom of the screen without any interruptions and find the picker. At this point, you can go to the adjust value and pick your choice. When you finish, you can swipe to the left once for the done button. Then you'll have to find that control on the page and press a button that will activate it, such as "go" or "submit" or some similar wording. Hope this helps.
