The native weather app and the phases of the moon.

Hi all. Have we lost the ability in the main weather preinstalled app to know what phase the moon is in? I enjoyed knowing when it was waining or waxing and full and other things like that. If this can be gotten back, could someone show me how? Thanks.

I think we did because in the weather app all I see is the hourly and week day forecast.

For me, the moon phases come and go in the forecast on my 4G Touch running iOS 6. Some days it's there, some days, it's not. What is more consistent is that it's wrong. Rarely are the phases accurate. I've come to just ignore it.

Hi, I have not had this detail lately, if I remember correctly, even in iOS 7.0. However, when we had the bushfires during the summer, on one particular day, the weather app announced the current condition as smoke. I live in Australia, so am not sure if anybody else has heard of this, but it was useful, as there was quite a lot of smoke in the air on that particular day.

As much as I find the moon phase issue frustrating, I still use the stock weather app as my main weather app. It is so well laid out, and accessible with all the information I need to know. There's stuff I'd like to know, like moon phase, sunrise and sunset, seasonal averages, and rain fall amounts, but I have other ways to find that out if I really want to. One thing that is a hidden VO feature is that we get more detailed description of the forecast icon than sighted people do. By this I mean that there are more word descriptions than graphic icons. Things like Snow Flurries, and light snow flurries have exactly the same visual presentation. The only way to "see" the difference is with VO. This was pointed out to me by a sighted person when we compared weather app notes.

Hi all. I guess they took the moon phases out, which is a bit disappointing. I don't mind the sun rise and set idea of the previous poster but the other stuff i'm not interested in. The only thing is I wish that Apple didn't go to Yahoo! for it's weather, it's not a well forecasting app in my view. i have weather readio but i just use that for notifications, hey now coming. The reason I don't care for the Yahoo! forecast is simple. Tomorrow, a high of 61 with rain and sun. How is that? Lol. Anyway It's not that big of a deal for me, I don't need to take up more space using more data to find out if we have a blood moon again. thanks so much though for your answers.
