Hi All
Using IPhone SE and IOS 18.
Nat West Bank released an update to their app a week ago.
When I've logged into the app I see my list of accounts.
However, when I perform a one finger double tap on the account I wish to view nothing happens.
I've tried this on another SE running IOS 18 and the same happens.
Ring the bank I hear you say!
I did this and they told me that after the latest update they are aware of problems with Voice Over.
This is the best bit. They told me it isn't expected to be fix until next year.
Is anybody else having issues using the Nat West Banking app?

Keep at it
That's appalling. I remember when Barclays broke Voiceover in an update a good few years ago. not only did the release notes advise blind people not to install the update, but the problem was fixed in a week. The banking apps are absolutely vital so definitely keep on their case. It might mean writing to someone though, rather than relying on someone in the food chain at a call centre. and to think that in the 1980s their slogan used to be: Nat West, the action Bank.
I'm with barclays.
I'd recommend them, they're the most accessible.
I've tried other banks and some work ok but barclays just smoothly.
There is one tiny issue and that's that when you send money to a savings account, for example, it will say something like, send to, dimmed button, it's not dimmed, it's just an accessibility thing, apart from that; it works fine.
I'd really recommend moving to another bank ASAP, being told that they're aware of this and it will be worked on next year is unacceptible.
They should be able to transfer all your direct debits over, every bank as far as I know does that these days.
If I had to pick something they could improve upon it would be the card and pin numbers not coming in braille/an electronic format, they could even password protect it if they wanted to go that far.
Still Working Here, Thankfully
I'm not seeing this with the latest update (and by the time I checked it was already too late to avoid updating anyway). I do notice though that they've broken My Rewards, in that you can no longer see the balances, but there's a workaround in that when you do exchanges it shows you the available balance. So I don't know. Sounds terrible though, and I'm sadly not surprised to hear that they'll get around to it eventually, at their own magestic pace.
NatWest. Helpful banking. ™
This is horrible. Honestly…
This is horrible. Honestly if they don't do anything very soon you better be vocal about it and mention it to your local blindness ish thing organization, news, etc, such as cnib in canada or raamm in montreal for example. I am sure uk has even more of those.
yeah about that...
We don't really.
The UK is very bad when it comes to this stuff.
The only place I can think of is the RNIB and the last time I checked, they didn't go after big companies or any companies for that matter.
I might think Americans like to sue a bit to much but at least they sue.
Others from the UK can correct me here if I'm wrong but I've been living here all my life and there's hardly anything about blindness.
I think, if you're lucky there's one maybe two schools, and a couple of places you can go if you're young and want to get out a bit, but when it comes to suing a company, i'd honestly have no idea where to even start.
Yeah, we do!
In fact, I am thinking about filing a lawsuit right now against Brad for stereotyping us Americans.
I kid, I kid.
To be honest though, it is actually a lot harder (here) to sue over disability rights then you might think. For what it’s worth however, I feel your pain.
Finally, a random question, does the screen recognition feature do anything for you guys in regards to this app?
Just a thought… 🙂✌️
@Brian
I completely believe you but at least it can be done.
You have the ADA and people at least follow it there,, here, we have something but I have no idea what it's called, that should tell you how much it's followed here.
Anyway, this is really off topic, sorry about that.
