I just wanted to take a second to talk about Facebook dating I recently decided to sign up for Facebook dating was curious on its accessibility and I found it to be very accessible when being able to set up my own profile without sighted help which I was thrilled about but when it came to adding my hobbies that is where it came not accessible I found myself using the screen Recognition a lot to be able to save anything it would just say save disabled on my profile as well for matching and with people which is the heart of Facebook dating and I was able to save my about me just fine but the hobbies part is still not working even with screen Recognition enabled I had a friend who told me their is a work around it but never told me that work around but over all Facebook dating is fully accessible obviously not the picture part but just being able to have a smooth sign up experience is what matters to me but I do wish I didn’t have to rely heavily on the screen Recognition to use some features

Hi.

Thank you for this review.
However, without punctuation, it was hard to read.

Yes I am sorry about that was just trying to post it fast didn’t think about punctuation

So far, I keep hearing that majority of apps are not accessible.

Hi,
I have been using Facebook dating for a while, and what I can say is that so far it's the most accessible dating service that I've found that's used by sighted and visually impaired users alike.

They do have a pretty bad track record. I wonder if there is some social bias which states that the disabled community probably doesn't need to trouble themselves to find companionship?? :) Before settling down, I tried a few apps and not a 1 of them worked smoothly always something broken. Having said that, it's been a long time since evaluating any of them.

They probably do not think we are capable to have sex. I think there is a manual on having sex created by the US government for the blind.

Ahahah, what we need is a smart partner.

It is not a joke. Someone mention it to me when I was in the University. The special need office or someone do not recall.

Yeah well, I would have told that person too do it with the light off next time and then let me know how they coped. Sheesh, I'm asked often how I manage to get into the town centre alone for a drink and that I'm brave for doing so. People's ignorance really isn't worth sweating over.

There technically is such a thing as a "smart partner," in this case a service that lets someone else take all the hard work out of matchmaking for you so that all you need to do is approve dates they find for you and then enjoy the people they select. This may be a great service for the visually impaired because someone else, a sighted person, is doing all of the work of using dating applications and services that are not accessible, while you just tell them about yourself, your preferences, etc. so they can build a good profile on you and find potential dates. Hi All,

For what it's worth, my wife and I met on match.com July 2009. I don't know what match.com is like right now, but back then it was perfectly accessible and well worth the price, which back then wasn't much.

Joy!

I prefer just meet someone at a bar or whatever.
Luckily that still seems to work for me.
Just strike up a conversation and let's see how it goes.

Hello! How do you verify your profile on facebook dating? How do you handle the video selfie for profile verification?

By Holger Fiallo on Monday, April 22, 2024 - 10:10

Be careful. When any woman tries to talk to me via it, 100% with time ask for money. Sad that it is use to screw people. Be careful

Thanks for the tip, but I can't verify my profile with a video selfie. I have 3 attempts and all failed.
How did you manage to confirm it?

By Emily Chia on Monday, April 22, 2024 - 10:10

I had the same problem a few weeks ago, and the verification process worked on my end. Are you not angling your phone correctly? Or it could be an error on Facebooks part?

By Holger Fiallo on Monday, April 22, 2024 - 10:10

I do not recall it asking for it when I created it.

By Holger Fiallo on Monday, April 22, 2024 - 10:10

We need that to meet ladies or for the ladies men.

By Emily Chia on Monday, April 22, 2024 - 10:10

I think it made me verify myself, because i took a break off it for a bit, and when I came back, that’s when it asked me to verify myself, after that it didn’t ask again.

Blind or visually impaired people don't need Facebook dating to meet a significant other, real life works as well. Because, and let's be honest here for a second, FB Dating is a free dating service where you don't really need to create another full profile, you use your already existing profile and just add a few things here and there. Of course it's full of spammers, love scams and whatnot. A few years ago I laughed about dating sites that cost money before you can enter, but nowadays, I rather prefer such services because there is a bigger hurdle for scam artists to get in there. Sure, not foolproof, but enough for the typical keyboard wank jobs

Some people prefer to meet somebody online, others prefer to meet somebody in person, it’s a preference, whatever works for that individual.
