iOS and iPadOS

Hello. I'm totally new to this forum. I'm from South Africa and planning to buy an iPhone which I can use as a blind user. Which phones are accessable for us? And what does ios stands for? I'm looking forward to your reply. Kind regards, Morne

Nearly every iPhone is accessible, with the exception of the 3G and the first model. The iPhone 3GS, 4, 4S, and 5 can all be used by people who are blind or visually impaired. Each phone is equipped with VoiceOver, which is specific to those who have vision problems. It not only announces information displayed on screen, but it allows us to use the touch screen to navigate to various pieces of text or items that we can activate. This makes navigation easy and accessible for numerous users of Apple devices. (VoiceOver isn't only featured in the iPhone; it is found on the iPad, iPod, etc.) To answer your second question, iOS is the operating system that the mobile devices use. The iPhone is a typical example, because it uses versions of iOS to run. I hope you enjoy the iPhone should you decide to purchase it. Best of luck.
