Hi everyone,
Has anyone else experienced the facebook messenger app being annoying? I have been having trouble with it, when I begin typing the focus jumps to older conversations and I can’t type my messenge anymore. Its weird, the back button disappears and I need to double tap roughly where the button would be to jump out of the message and go back in to type again. Is there a fix or is this something new for just me :)

This seems to be a regression on Meta's end, as the bug disappeared for a while between versions. For me, what happens is every time I, or someone else, send a mesage, the conversation scrolls back and VoiceOver starts reading old messages. One thing you can do is making the VoiceOver back gesture instead of manually looking for the back button to get out of the conversation in question, but it's still annoying.

I have that problem but it don't really happen when i'm typing. When I try to read a few messages back it would scroll to earlier messages like way way back and i would have to close out the whole app just to get out of there.

Yeah, Messenger has been bad for me for the past several months. I don't have the issue when typing, but do have the problem with it going to messages way back in the conversation. I've had to start using messenger on Mac OS and Windows to actually be able to have a consversation. It's a disaster!
Yes it's buggy.
To back out of a conversation when it bugs, you can use the two finger scrub gesture to go back instead of having to find the back button.

At the moment, it’s no longer doing this weird, jumping thing for me, without even an update. Maybe they saw this and did a fix, or it will be jumping again tomorrow 😂

Yes, I also suffered a lot and now I was very happy to find in the morning that everything was working. Whether it’s a coincidence or not, I wrote on Facebook about this problem only a day ago - I’m very glad that they also paid attention to this, that there are people who wrote and complained, Let’s hope that this won’t happen again
