Well, while it does offer premium subscriptions, it can be used for free and appears to have no major accessibility issues. I've tried some other alternatives, some of which would require me to watch ads and some of which were not accessible enough.

So apparently Proton VPN and the other Proton services have all emerged as a result of a crowdfunding campaign and maintained by some scientists at CERN.
