long standing issue commenting on youtube videos

I have had a long standing issue when adding comments to youtube videos. After I get done typing sometimes I can find the add comment button and sometimes I can only see the dismiss button and add timestamp button. It seems that I have more luck using a bluetooth keybord to add comments on youtube videos. Anyone else having this problem?

I’ve had the same issue. Hopefully it’s a bug they can fix. The only thing i’ve been able to do is swipe quickly through the buttons and hopefully find the send comment button.

Use screen recognition and it should help.

For some strange reason it went away a couple of weeks ago. Sorry I can’t say how or why to help but I haven’t had it since then.

How many you’ve actually reached out to Google? So consider that no one is going to have a solution to these issues on this website. Yes, they exist and it’s great to confirm that other people have this issue. But now, you have the choice of reaching out to Google And reporting the bug. You can do this directly on the YouTube application, through Google accessibility, or even Google accessibility on the Be My Eyes application. It’s really important that people report these issues. That way when they come on this website, they can say I reached out to Google and then you guys can coordinate continued advocacy and work towards fixing these issues.

Put your VoiceOver focus on your keyboard, do a two-finger scrub and the keyboard will disappear. Then you'll be able to find the button to send your comment

Yes, sadly this has been a problem for years at this point. I have reported it many times but obviously nothing has changed and probably never will. Not only is the send button not immediately accessible by touch but you can’t even double tap in the text field of your comment to move the cursor to the start or end, or use voiceover character, word and line navigation rotor options. All you can really do is type your comment, place your finger on the text field where your comment is and single finger swipe right a couple times until you find the send button. 75% of the time, it’s there. Sometimes it just isn’t. Screen recognition does seem to help but that introduces its own strange quirks. Interestingly, if you receive a notification about a comment or reply you have left and you follow that notification, it takes you to an alternate display of comments and replies that work completely normally. I have found no way to get to this more accessible version of it other than following an in-app notification

I don't write many comments but for now it seams to be fixed.

I've never used the YouTube app either on Android or iOS, but have noticed that I cannot even comment on their website. I, too have reached out to Google about this to no avail. Commenting was never possible on YourTube either, yet I always see other people commenting on videos. I'll try again though, as it's been quite awhile.

Do you have a mac or windows machine? If it's windows, try chrome or firefox.
