I opened up my Facebook app today and the first thing in the newsfeed is one of those notice things from Facebook itself. This one was a reminder that registration to vote in my states midterms is coming up soon. It said to share the voter registration link with your friends to help them get registered. For the life of me, I could not interact with this post in any meaningful way no matter what I did. Single finger double tapping it did nothing. Single finger swiping up and down gave two context menu options – ”activate” or ”more.” Activating the more option brings up a menu with a single option: ”hide this post.” lol. Seriously??? Two finger double tapping the post brings up a context menu with two options: ”activate” or ”more.” Activating the ”more” option brings up, well, you guessed it – ”hide this post.” I even tried turning off voiceover off, tapping where I believe the post to be and turning voiceover back on but still nothing. What the heck, Facebook? This is literally every VoiceOver gesture I am aware of for getting a post to actually do something. Is there anything I haven’t tried that one of you can think of? I have had experiences like this for years now in the newsfeed with this type of post and it drives me crazy. I can’t believe this hasn’t been fixed yet

Facebook seems to be too busy creating new bugs, to worry about fixing the older ones. I've had this same problem for years.
One thing you might try
This sometimes works on the Facebook app and sometimes doesn't, so this is no certain fix. If you have an iPhone with 3D touch, I find that peskie notification on the screen, usually bdragging my finger on the screen, and then I press down on it like I was doing a 3D touch gesture. Sometime,s that wil lopen the thing. Good luck and I hope this works.

Hi. Thanks for the suggestion Sockhopsinger. I'll have to try that with other things on Facebook and maybe other apps also. I'm sorry to say that I agree. It drives me crazy too, but, not as bad since I don't use that kind of stuff very much.
If it really bugs you, you can go into your town hall section, and turn off voter notifications. FYI. I just found this out yesterday.

When I've loaded Facebook lately, it tells me I have a certain number of bookmarks active. Not sure what they are talking about. I know about notifications, of course, but haven't heard anything about bookmarks until recently.
These bugs driving me nuts
Yeah, I completely agreed with you guys here. These bugs is annoying, indeed. The recent update of the Facebook app when I open it, it told me something about the bookmarks. And I can't find bookmarks anywhere just like the last poster said. One more thing, sometimes, when a friendship day comes out on my newsfeed, I cannot share the video. I had to get sighted friends to do that for me. I even report these issues to the accessibility team of facebook, but all I get is "Thanks for report the problem to us. Your problems has been submitted to the team." This message is from a facebook accessibility team whose name Ashley.
