Hi there,
may anyone of the KNFBReader users here confirm the following?
Lets take a multi page PDF document and import it to KNFBReader taht contains e.g. 74 pages after it is converted by any reader with PDF capability. That should happen without any problems. So lets put than on the OCR recognition process. The first - lets say - 20 pages seems to be processed correctly. After two or three pages later, it comes to an aprupt crash down. The app stops and you lands on the homescreen from that KNFBReader had been started.

quit all apps
Before you do a scan, try quitting all other apps, and maybe even quit and reopen knfb. As an ex-user of read2go, I'm very familiar with this process.
Good idea, but unfortunately
Good idea, but unfortunately no solution specifically for that bug. I've tryed it, but the crash occures, no matter what I do.
i've had this problem too.
I to have had this probme. with my css from my phone company. about the first few pages, it finishes, and then it crashes.
I've dropped a Mail to
I've dropped a Mail to KNFBReader support. Lets wait what they have zu say. May be its only a minor bug, but it is one.
the same here
I tried to inport and recognice a 120 pages document yesterday and the app crashed on page 24 or so without saving any text .
so it seems to be a global
so it seems to be a global bug. I'm nosy 'bout the next update.
Not global
I scanned in 318 pages worth of a scanned image PDF without issue, sorry
sounds like maybe its
sounds like maybe its something to do with formatting or something else causing the issue then or maybe the bug doesn't happen all the time.
May I ask you what IOS
May I ask you what IOS version you've used as you've converted that large PdF successfully?
So there should be roles that
So there should be roles that clearly fix what kind of document formatting are accepted by KNFBReader, Isn't it?
I used IOS 7 for it
It was done using IOS 7 but I will give it another go with 8 today
PDF's are strange things anyway
They are a bit like daisy books in that they can be badly marked up and things. Perhaps KNFB reader need to be more explanatory about what works and what doesn't. The PDF I used was a users guide and it was scanned images.
I would not rely o that. You
I would not rely o that. You have your profs that do a scanned image for a pdf that have badly written things by hand. I should know. Also you have your profs or students or sightlings who just don't care and want to get as much on th epage so do like 8 or 6 point font to get as much on to 1 clutered page as possible, so rules are pretty much a moot point here.
