I have come across an app called JumpSpeak that seems miles better than duolingo, and uses it seems real conversation and audio to walk you through a language; has anyone tried it though? no trial is available? Will
Hey Will! I've heard of JumpSpeak, but I haven't tried it personally. It sounds like an interesting approach to language learning, using real conversations and audio to guide you through.
Unfortunately, it's a bummer that there's no trial available. That would definitely be helpful in getting a feel for the app before committing to a purchase.
when i go to the app if i cancel out of the subscription dialogue it seems to let me try the first bit on greetings and i tap the flag at the top and select my language. seems quite odd but think, it's accessible. can others try it and see where it may need improving? the full experience not available until we pay.
Hi all, so somehow? the first lesson seemed to work. it appears the listening section is whereby you hear a phrase and you have to match the correct answer, a bit like duolingo. The speaking part is where you hear the conversation you have done in the listening part, but you are involved, so say if it says hello how are you? and my response is very well thank you, it will come up with say in spanish, Muy Bien and then underline characters to fill in the blank, voiceover can read these but of course i think this would work better with a Braille display since you can read what it is asking for and just speak it, so not sure how this will work in practice for voiceover only users, i tried a new, and intermediate level, but i think it is a lot of hype, unsure though how we'd use it withght braille although the microphone, which is always active by default, doesn't seem to recognize voiceover. i wish we could have access as the blind community, but unsure how it could be improved.
