IPhone 4s VS IPhone 5 speed for GPS and OCR

My real questions concern more in terms of hardware performance than software but this seemed the best of the choices. Other than using the phone for it's basic purpose (making/receiving calls, just in case) I have di8scovered a whole new potential world of freedom with the GPS and to a lesser extent, OCR. So, assuming both phones have the same memory, and the most recent operating system, what functions does one do better than the other, IE more accurate route and positioning so that one learns of the upcoming streets before they occur rather than the present ramdomness. IS ocr any more accurate and/or more rapid with the tweaks to the camera? I find that, with Siri now working in Canada, I get accurate info when I ask SIRI "where am i?" or "I'm hungary," (sadly not so helpful when I tell SIRI "I have to pee!") I an also less interested in color identification but never found an app which is as reliable of my old single-purpose color identifier. I suspect that there are simply too many variables for reliable accuracy. Loking forward to the discussion since I've not yet seen any real comparison along the above lines.

My understanding is that in terms of the actual hardware, both machines are very similar. The major difference, though, is that the iPhone5 is amazingly faster for processing speed. For things like OCR, I imagine that the 5 is the way to go. If you don't mind sacrificing speed, the 4s is a much more reasonably priced option.
