Hi all and a very happy New Year to you.

I wanted to ask since Apple Intelligence came out, what is everybody’s experience like with using iPhone 16 as I am seriously considering getting it. Can you please point me in the right direction? Many thanks in advanced

I'm really hoping to trade in my iphone 13 pro for an ultramarine iPhone 16 within the next couple of weeks. I'm curious how much trouble I'll have getting used to the presence of the dynamic island, and I also wonder how much benefit I'll get out of the apple intellegence stuff. I'm looking forward to better battry life, maybe a bit more responsiveness, and the dedicated camera button. It'll allow me to put something else more useful in my dock rather than having to keep the camera there for easy access.

It's located near the right edge bottom of the phone. I've grasped it more times then I wanted to as it's just where my thumb usually rests. I like the door detection.

If you get a good case for it will not be an issue. Have 16 pro max. AI is OK but siri is going down the toilet. The new features are OK but more likely not to be use all the time. Writing tools? If you want AI to do your writing, yes. GPT is OK for fun and asking some question, nice.

Now, I do have an iPhone 15 Pro Max, so maybe iPhone 16 is better. But I find Appleintelligence has in some ways been a step back. AllegedlyChat GPT has been intigrated, but I have yet to experience how. So far it just seems like regular SIRI. Worse actually, because certain things won't work at all. If For instance I ask it to play audible and am wearing my AirPods and just say "Siri, play audible" it often says "I don't understand." If I use the side button to ask it, that always works. But sometimes even pressing the side button doesn't work. The sound iwll play and I can even see the screen change, but it just ... stops. Overall I'm yet to be impressed by it. The ability to summarize your emails and your voice notes is pretty cool, admitedly.

Thank you very much to you all for all your advice and help, it is gratefully appreciated. I just want to ask, taking Siri out of the equation, as I don’t use Siri very much at all. How would I get on? Do you think if I wasn’t to use Siri With Apple intelligence and iPhone 16? Thank you so much again for all your help.

On the one hand, I haven't seen anything I couldn't live without.

That being said, the one AI feature I make the most use of is ChatGPT integration. Want to know why you should balance carbs with protein? Compare the answers from plain SIRI and "Hey SIRI ask ChatGPT". Spoiler alert. There's no comparison. So, this was a quick and dirty way for Apple to make SIRI much more useful.

The rollout of AI functionality has been slow. We're still waiting for SIRI to be able to tell us when our mother's flight arrives, for example. I hope this is an indication that new and more powerful capabilities will continue to roll out for years to come.

I don't use the AI writing tools. I could never sign my name to that. I'd have to drastically revise whatever an AI vomits out. It's just quicker to write it myself.

I have visual intelligence wired to my camera button and I hardly use it. I also configured my action button to recored voice memos. I've used it once. I don't think this is because those features aren't useful. It's just hard to develop new habits, you know?
