IOS8 and moving apps

iOS and iPadOS

I just updated to IOS8 on my Ipod Touch 5G. It added new apps, which changed where old apps were located on the screen. I've been trying to move apps around into a better order, by tapping and holding, but, 9 times out of 10, when I tap and hold, VO just says "tap and hold to move" but doesn't go on to "moving" whatever. It seems to especially happen with apps that are near the dock. Is anyone else having this problem, and how do I resolve it?

Is there a way to regress to a previous IOS version?
Thanks.

Although I don't have the problem on my iPad, a number of users have reported not being able to move apps in the fifth row, the row directly above the dock. You can work around this by moving apps from the fourth row down to the fifth row, which will push the fifth row apps upward to the fourth row and make them movable. The procedure will be tedious, but with some effort you should be able to get the apps arranged the way you like.

As for downgrading, it is technically possible, but difficult, from what I've heard. I wouldn't advise it unless you're absolutely sure what you're doing.

I'm trying to move an app from the first page to the fourth but moving to the next page appears to be next to impossible. I was able to go back to the previous page but can't seem to go to the next page. Note, this is on an iPhone six plus. Can anyone bring some insite into how the best way to move to the next page? At times like this I wish I had a Bt keyboard but alas.

Hi, Have you tried moving an app to the top of the screen?
VO should say "moving to page 2 for example.

Out of curiosity, exactly what version of iOS 8 is installed? If it is iOS 8.4 this should not be a problem. Before I upgraded to the iOS 9 public beta I do not recall that problem whilst I used iOS 8.3 public beta builds or the public release of the same version. I vividly recall the very frustrating bug in version prior to 8.3 that rendered items in the fifth row [nearest the dock] immovable unless they were replaced by other items. Initially, I thought that was a glitch in my former iPhone [iPhone 5 whose hardware was damaged] and can not recall the same commencing the use of my iPhone 6 Plus beginning with with iOS out-of-the-box version 8.1.3 [which was upgraded to a public beta of version 8.2 due to the fact iCloud back-ups contained firmware 8.2].

It is technically possible to revert to an older version of the firmware. Caveat emptor: the signing window MUST be open for that specific version and build; else, it is impossible unless you saved your <a href="https://wikipedia.org/wiki/SHSH_Blob&quot; target="blank">SHSH blobs</a> and use a tool such as Tiny Umbrella to revert.

IOS 8.4 is installed, and I have moved the app to the top of the screen. Nothing seems to be working. As I stated in my earlier posting, I can move back a page no problem, but moving to the next page appears to be problematic.
