Okay, I am still using IOS 6 something on my Ipod 5th gen touch. Somehow I can't find reviews of the latest IOS 7.4. I'm thinking about upgrading and need some feedback on that version and how voice over is working. I know there were a lot of bugs when IOS 7 first came out, but has version 7.4 generally fixed the scrolling issues and loading of web pages/apps? Thanks

Hi kithri the iOS 7.0.4 using voiceOver works on the same way as previous iOS releases 7.0.2 _ 7.0.3 most of the voiceover bugs still are there voiceover focus jump up to the top when you navegate by headings or links, voiceOver say screen lock twice, etcetera, etcetera. if you are consider update to iOS7 this is the time specially if you think jailbreak it this is the last chance. according to the rumors apple debut iOS7.1 early on March NOTE I'm talking just about bugs using voiceOver, don't forget that on each iOS release comes with new features also. apple release new iOS 7.0.5 for china www.macrumors.com/2014/01/29/apple-releases-ios-7-0-5-with-bug-fixes

i would upgrade to get the security hold fixed that might be present. and that update that came out today is not for us, but for those in china and europe and it's only for the 5s and 5c, how ever I would just take the chance and upgrade, don't worry about the bugs. they don't really stop you from using your phone all that much. Hope that helps.
I'm not sure what jailbreak apps are or what they are for, per comment number 2. Also, with IOS 7.1 anyone got it yet for beta testing or have any idea if it will be a bit more stable. Also if I upgrade either now or later with I-cloud can I get my info back from there since the upgrade will wipe pretty much everything off? Thanks to all

Hi there... updating should not wipe your device clean. Providing the upgrade goes smoothly all of your information should still be their once the process is complete. As a precaution, however, I would recommend making a back-up of your device to iCloud before upgrading. This (along with making sure that important content is selected to be shared) will insure the security of your content. Also of note, selecting items to be shared and backing up your device does not count against your storage space for documents and data and will not cost you anything. If you have anymore questions please feel free to ask, or even get ahold of me via the contact form of this site for assistance. As for Voiceover performance, yes a lot of the accessibility issue still exist but they corrected the Voiceover screen sensitivity issue with the 7.03 update and thank the lord. Be well, Greg

Yes they have fixed some bugs in this version. FaceTime doesn't crash as much as it use to when iOS 7 came out.

Techniqually we are not to speak of iOS 7.1 as it is still in beta and we will brake out NDA's but just update. it will save you the hassle of being 1 and a half operating systems behind when and if ios7.1 comes out which should be with in about 3 or 4 months. based on what I see on mac roomers. I do agree with th poster who said back up your stuff both on the computer and iCloud just in case something goes wrong which it 99.9 percent won't. it is better to be safe then sorry though. Hth.
Hi kithri sorry for the late reply regarding to your question. I'm not sure what jailbreak apps are or what they are for, per comment number 2. well there many apps who allows to costumize your iOS device but I can say pick up differents voices, use 2 voices on the same app, free HotSpot, ETCETERA, but the point is because when iOS7.1 come out the jailbreak will be close. Just I though who you want to jailbreak it. Also, with IOS 7.1 anyone got it yet for beta testing or have any idea if it will be a bit more stable. I'm not beta tester but by now is the third beta for iOS7.1 and I'm not sure if I can talk here but will bring few accessible changes just look or search on Google or Twitter. and lasly Also if I upgrade either now or later with I-cloud can I get my info back from there since the upgrade will wipe pretty much everything off? Thanks to Greg T Kelchner and marrie who respond your question.
No Iv'e done tons of upgrades, no jail braking as I get everything I need out of real iOS, but it will not wipe your data in any way, but still I would agree to do a back up before just in case. You can never ever bee too safe.
As a reminder, iOS 7.1 is still in beta and is thus covered by Apple's Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). For those new to the world of Apple beta software: all Apple beta software is protected under the aforementioned Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). Apple requires that anyone who legally downloads beta software sign an NDA--which prohibits them from publicly talking about the software. There is some information available in the public domain from Apple regarding future enhancements in iOS 7.1 (iOS in the Car comes to mind), but accessibility improvements are unfortunately not in the public domain--and thus cannot legally be discussed on AppleVis. Furthermore, it is worth mentioning that installing third-party vocalizer voices on a jailbroken device is also illegal and is thus a topic that cannot be discussed on AppleVis.
