I have a iPhone 6s. I began running IOS 14 at the public release. Over all, I like it. I am experiencing some sluggishness, even after doing the second language in the rotor solution. The sluggishness isn't terrible but it is noticeable as compared to IOS 13. I am wondering how much of the sluggishness is due to the VO sluggishness bug in IOS 14 and how much of it is simply due to the fact that I am running IOS 14 on the oldest supported device. I am considering getting a 2020 iPhone SE at some point and I am wondering how much of a difference in performance I would actually get, given the VO sluggishness bug. One would think that the performance difference between the A9 and A13 would be significant but, if much of the sluggishness is due to the bug, then perhaps not. I would be curious to hear from someone who has a device with a A9 processor (same as my 6S) and also has a newer device and is running IOS 14 on both. What kind of performance difference do you see between the two devices?

RE: IOS 14 on Older and Newer Devices
I am running iOS 14 on my iPhone 6S and iPhone XS. I have implemented the Voiceover second languages changes recommended, due to VO sluggishness, as well. I think my 6S does still underperform, as far as VO speed, when compared to my XS. I would say that the XS doesn't show a marked increase in VO speed, over the 6S, but there is a difference.
I am also going to purchase the SE 2020 edition, as soon as finances allow, because the 6S is most certainly showing its age. I want the new SE as a backup device, and as a gaming device. My XS will remain my primary and the 6S will only be utilized for gaming unless needed as a backup.

I have an iPhone SE 2020, I upgraded and regret it due to the performance issue. Even though apple vis has said the issue occurs sometimes, it always occurs for me and I have to switch to secondary language. Also the whatsapp scrolling bug annoys me.

Hi all. The link is to an article that, if I read it right, ran speed tests on IOS 14 on the 6s on up, and then ran the same test comparing the results to earlier versions of IOS, all without voiceover. Conclusion? More or less no appreciable slow down with IOS 14.
