I just updated to IOS 12 on my IPad 4 and now am having trouble finding the status bar with time, battery charge etc. When I slide my finger to where it should be, I get the sounds for control center etc. Is there a VoiceOver gesture that can get me to the status bar automatically? I'm really having a battle trying to find it. Thanks.

status bar on iPad
hi, due to the fact that if you touch right at the top, the first thing that happens is the activation for the pull down, if you keep touching for about half a second, that mode cancels, and then you can run your finger left and right over the bar as normal. or if you have trouble with that, start lower than the status bar, and move up onto it. this avoids the activation of the pulldown mode. also, just a warning, in iOS 12, the status bar is different on iPads. it's now organized into 2 bars, split by a blank space. on the left hand bar, starting at far left, you have the time, then the date. on the right hand side, i have mobile, cause mine is a sim enabled iPad, the wi-fi network, location tracking sign, then battery at far right. that's just how mine is showing, mine is an iPad pro 10.5, so don't know if this is the same for all the iPads with iOS 12, but i'm guessing it is. so don't go looking for the time in the centre at the top, cause it's not there. lol.
IOS 12 taskbar and stuff
Thanks Dallas. Had no idea the status bar was split. No wonder I couldn't find the time. It's a bit of a process but I've got it figured out. Thanks again.
