Hi all!

I am curious about something. It has to do with the image disscription feature in ios. 11.

I know that captchas can be quite annoying!! I've been thinking about this one off and on. Does Vo. disscription read captchas? I know that not all of them can be read, but I was wondering if anyone has played with this and tried it? I'm just curious.

This feature is currently not working properly. Therefore, we will have to wait for a better update before we can properly test it.

many people think this is like taptapsee or camfind, it is not. i'm sure the implementation will get better over time, but it is already very good, if you know what it is all about. in short, it describe simple obvious scene and faces. if you use it correctly, you can learn a lot about a picture and make you a better photographer. i'll give you an example.

for this particular picture i took, if i three-finger tap, it would say "one face, smiling, sofa", that tells me the picture is a success, because that was the scene i was trying to take.

from the rotor, i can then select "show facial detail", and i can touch where the face is in relation to the scene. in this case, the face is at the right edge of the screen, that means my focus was a little off, for i meant to put the face in the center. and you you explore the face very carefully, you will feel where the mouth, nose, eyes and eyebrows. interestingly, it calls the right eyebrow left eyebrow and vise versa. if you pay attention to details, you'll even know how clear the face is; you may find one eye and eyebrow missing, for example. play it for it's intended purpose, i'm sure you'll love it. happy snapping.

right now it only shows facial feature, i want it to show more. like this pic i took, it says "parrot, cars, sharp". well good, but i want to know where these objects are in the scene, how big they are in relation to the entire scene...would be great if like faces, it would shows these objects so when i touch the parrot, it says parrot. now yu all kow what this is all about, go play with it and let apple know you love it and how it can be improve. if nobody is using it for its intended purpose, apple won't improve it, because nobody cares.

I'm excited for this feature and cannot wait to test it out! Here's where I'd like to see this feature go.

1. I'd like to see it suppor GIF.s
2. I'd like to see support for stickers implemented as well.
3. I'd like to see it work on captchas. I know that these are in the future and hopefully not in the very distant future. And I know that not everything will be able to read and disscribed. But, I'd still like to enjoy and use some of the same things that my sighted family/friends use every day.

For a brand-new feature on the Mac, I'd say Apple hit the nail right on the head with this one. Just last night, for example, I tested out this feature in an email that was sent to everybody in my building and a few others announcing the recent birth of my next-door neighbors' second child. VoiceOver reported to me that there were 3 people smiling in the picture, but not who those people were. I suspect it was this baby's big sister and their parents, based on what I and my other neighbors were told on the day of his birth. I'm going to talk with these neighbors and see if they have more detailed pics of him and/or his sister. Both their grandmothers have also spent a lot of time with them. Anyway, I love this feature and am so excited for updates to it.

Since the IOS 11 update my wireless apple keyboard looses the ability to type in text fields. I have to constantly turn it on and off to use it. Does anyone else have this issue?
