Just downloaded Look Tel Money Reader and it does nothing. No voice, just says Money Reader Running, no buttons etc. Deleted and re-downloaded. there is apparently a picture? Camera is obviously enabled, plenty of room lighting and camera flash light works if light poor. Have I missed something obvious, or is it messed up somehow? Using latest ios update.

Money Reader
I don't understand your question. I don't use this app, but to my knowledge, the camera is always active when this app is open. When currency is under the camera, the app will announce the denomination. For example, if you place a $5 Australian note in the view of the camera, it will say "5 Australian dollars" or something like that.
Ya, just hold some money in
Ya, just hold some money in front of the camera, it'll think about it for a second or two then say 5 dollars or what ever.
If that's what you're already doing then something's wrong.
Mine is working.
Mute
Try setting the mute button on the side of your phone to on :-)
Hi.
Hi.
There is nothing wrong with the app. This is how it is supposed to look, with nothing on screen except for money reader running. Place a note of currency, for example $1 or whatever under the camera, lift the phone a bit, then VO should say automatically, 20$.
HTH, and keep trying it if it doesn't work, make sure the phone is unmuted, switch in up position.
Did you hold the money to the
Did you hold the money to the back camera? It will read automatically.
Look Tel update
Thanks for the comments. I've done some experimentation. It recognises Euro's and Dollars, no problem. The app blurb states it recognises British Pounds? Possiblly English Pounds, but not Scottish currency? Apple Store refund I think? Not so good as I first thought.
Works fine for me
I have been using that app since I first got my iPhone 4 and I still use it today on my iPhone 6 with iOS 9.3.1 and have no issues. I hold the dollar bill, whatever denomination, up to the camera and it tells me what it is. Pretty simple. If it isn't working, something else is wrong for you . Have you emailed the developer? Keep us posted, and I hope it works for you
Did you check?
From the Looktel website:
Twenty-one currencies are supported: the US Dollar, Australian Dollar, Bahraini Dinar, Brazilian Real, Belarusian Ruble, British Pound, Canadian Dollar, Euro, Hungarian Forint, Israeli Shekel, Indian Rupee, Japanese Yen, Kuwaiti Dinar, Mexican Peso, New Zealand Dollar, Polish Zloty, Russian Ruble, Saudi Arabian Riyal, Singapore Dollar, and United Arab Emirates Dirham.
No surprises about what currencies could be read.
